Why Portuguese?
Portuguese is a Romance language and has some 180 million first language speakers, mostly in Brazil (over 90 per cent) and Portugal, making it the seventh most widely spoken language in the world.
Portugal was the sixth most popular holiday destination for outgoing tourists from the UK in 2011 with 1.9 million visits.
